Email moc.liamg@iksokivrih.rimisak. If something in the app is not working, open Settings in Boreal and tap “Send support request” (“Send diagnostics” in older versions): it attaches a file with your app version and plan so we can help faster. Many questions are answered in the FAQ.
Subscriptions and passes
- Cancel or change the Season Pass. Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Boreal. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Start a 4-Day or 14-Day Pass. A pass does not start when you buy it. Open Boreal and slide to activate when you want its days to begin, for example on the first night of a trip.
- Restore a purchase. On a new or reset iPhone, sign in with the same Apple ID, open Boreal and tap “Restore Purchases” on the plans screen or in Settings.
- Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple, and refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Alerts are not arriving
- Check that notifications are allowed for Boreal in your iPhone’s Settings, and that “Aurora alerts” is on in Boreal’s own Settings.
- Alerts are sent for the place shown in the app. If you have travelled, open Boreal once so it can update your location. With “Follow me as I travel” on (the default) and location set to “Always” for Boreal in your iPhone’s Settings, this happens by itself.
- Alerts need an active subscription or a started pass, and are only sent when the aurora is likely to be visible where you are.
The forecast did not match the sky
Forecasts are estimates, and clouds, moonlight and light pollution all matter. Our Disclaimer explains what the number means and why it can miss. If a forecast was clearly off, tell us the place and time and we will take a look.
